The goal of this symposium is to bring together a small number of representative Newton scholars to openly reflect on future perspectives in Newtonian scholarship and the Newtonian legacy in eighteenth-century science and philosophy in Europe. The goal of the symposium lies not so much in presenting finished results (although such results will be presented), but primarily to jointly explore new directions in which Newton scholarship might fruitfully evolve (a round table session will be organized to address this).
