The talk concerns the case of Frege's set theory F. To simplify the matter, the usual first-order version is considered. We shall discuss the way in which growing insights in F do not only lead to an internal dynamics of the applied corrective adaptive logic, but also lead to modifications in the choice of this logic. We shall also discuss the consequences of applying an inappropriate adaptive logic (for example one which does not rule out triviality) in view of incomplete insights in F, and the possibility of a universally applicable adaptive logic (such as adaptive zero logic). The general framework is the content-guided aspects of scientific research (for example: Dudley Shapere, Logic and the philosophical interpretation of science.
